ABOUT ME

Hello and welcome to Emma Williams Yoga.
I specialise in providing hypnotherapy, reflexology and yoga for deep relaxation and healing.
I have always had a passion for health and wellbeing. As a nurse, I have an in-depth understanding of the physical body. During my work in the healthcare industry I have found that stress is often surfaced as poor eating habits, insomnia, stress and anxiety.
Throughout my personal and professional life I try to think about balance. I became to realise that I needed to achieve more balance in my life and embarked on my yoga journey to improve mobility and reduce stress levels - I have now completed my 500 hour yoga teacher training using a Sivananda approach.
I run workshops including treatments such as Reflexology, Indian Head massage and Yoga Therapy. These have shown to help achieve a more emotionally balanced life and can be tailored to your needs.
My interest and own practice encompass relaxation for mind, body and spirit - I try to achieve this through regular yoga practice, swimming and a love of being outside in my garden.
Treatments are available in the comfort of your own home.

YOGA
I believe that Yoga can benefit everyone, whatever their fitness levels or mobility. I teach yoga with compassion towards each individual and encourage them to practice mindfully at their current ability. My approach is to gently guide students to connect breath to movement and find freedom in their postures through props and correct alignment. I feel that when our approach to yoga is relaxed and open hearted, the strength and healing we desire happens effortlessly.
Yoga was traditionally passed down directly from master teachers who worked on a one to one basis tailoring the practice to each individual student, based on their body type, health and lifestyle.
Private sessions are a wonderful way to get the most out of your practice and experience quick results. It gives beginners a wonderful foundation on which to build their practice and focuses on your specific needs – exactly what you need and when. If you are interested in private classes, either one to one or small groups, please contact me for current prices and availability.
Evening classes
Ideal for those who need to unwind after a hard day's work, or if you have never practised yoga before, why not pop along and try it out? I hold a class that is open to all ages and abilities.

RELEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive therapy which helps the body restore, re-balance and heal. By gently massaging the reflexes on the feet or hands, it can induce a state of deep relaxation, activating the body’s own healing process and helping the body to return to wellbeing.
Among Reflexology's many benefits, regular treatments can help reduce the effects of stress, increase energy levels, strengthen the immune system, free up stiff joints, relax muscles and improve circulation and sleep patterns; bringing the whole body back into balance allowing you to go ahead and achieve that healthy lifestyle.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
The origins of Indian Head Massage lie in Ayurveda medicine, an ancient form of Indian healing. The concept was developed by Indian women, using different oils to keep their hair strong and in great condition. Indian barbers then developed these techniques for their male clients to invigorate the scalp and head. These techniques are now passed down throughout families from generation to generation and the massage is part of daily life.
Traditionally the massage was focused on the head and scalp, modern versions now incorporate the neck, upper back, shoulders, upper arms and face.
Massage and acupressure techniques manipulate the soft tissue in these areas, working not only on a physical level, but on an emotional one too – bringing energy levels and the whole body back into balance.
The head, more than any other part of the body, represents who we are. If our head feels good, we feel good.
Indian Head massage is also used to aid the condition of the hair, particularly when combined with the use of natural organic oils. I really like this Argan oil by Neal’s Yard which is organic and intensely nourishing. It has extremely high levels of the antioxidant vitamin E.
This treatment is given in a seated position to gain optimum benefit for the client.
